** Red Sox News - September 3, 2001 **

Stick a fork in them!!! It would seem the Red Sox are done. The Yankees swept the Sox this weekend. Sunday Mussina threw a near perfect game, beating the Sox 1-0. Saturday saw a great outing by Pedro wasted by a bad outing by Urbina. Friday saw the same thing, with the great outing by Castillo wasted by Derek Lowe. But that's OK, cause the Sox fired pitching coach John Cumberland, so everything will be OK now, right?? The Sox are currently 9 games out of first place with less than one month to go. Forks anyone?
