From the Bruins
71-72 Yearbook The 1970-71 season is one which Ace Bailey won't forget for a long while . . It wasn't just because the Bruins failed in their Stanley Cup defense . It was just that he had one of those years . . . He had the unique distinction of being the only player to be tossed out of the game with a game misconduct without ever getting into the game... it happened twice . . and he wore out a couple of pair of hockey pants sliding up and down the Bruins' bench as a bench-warmer id he fret about it? ... Not so you'd notice it... He vacationed in Acapulco and then met his parents and sister and her family in London, England ... and he's looking forward to a big season this Winter... On September 11, 2001, Garnet "Ace" Bailey was killed in the World Trade Center attack. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and fans. |
