Mike Walton #11 Born 1/3/1945 Kirkland Lake, Ontario Center 28 Goals 28 Assists 56 Points |
From the Bruins 71-72 Yearbook January 31,1971 will be remembered by Mike Walton as the day he was instantly "cured" of his nervous problem That was the day the Toronto Maple Leafs shipped him to the Bruins, via Philadelphia Flyers, in a three cornered deal Bernie Parent went to Toronto from Philly for Walton and a draft choice, then the Flyers sent Mike to the Bruins for two rookies, Dan Schock and Rick MacLeish When Walton was informed of his trade to the Bruins he was asked how soon he could join his new club .."l'm on my way there now," he replied Walton didn't get much chance to play with the Bruins until the playoffs But given the opportunity against Canadiens when the regulars slumped he proved that he will be an invaluable future asset The 26 year old forward plays all three positions up front and provides Coach Tom Johnson with another good point man on the power play He is married to Conn Smythe's niece and has a baby daughter |
