Ted Green #6 Born 3/23/1940 St Boniface, Manitoba Defensemen 1 Goals 16 Assists 17 Points |
From the 71-72 Bruins Yearbook Ted Green will always remember certain dates of the 1970-71 season The first was Sept.11 at the London, Ont., training camp . . . That was the day he first skated in his comeback effort after his near fatal head injury the previous year. . . The next was Sunday, Oct.11 at Boston Garden, when he took his first shift against Detroit in an N.H.L. game . . Then, there was Sunday, Oct.25, against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Garden . He scored his first goal of his comeback and received a standing ovation from the capacity crowd . . . Another was Sunday, Jan.24, against Montreal at the Garden . . . That was Ted Green Night in which his devoted fans paid tribute to him and his family . . . Green's comeback from the jaws of death to take a regular turn on the Bruins' defense in every single regular season and playoff games is a story which would be called "fiction" if it was a movie scenario . . The only difference in the Green who played before and after the injury was the helmet he wore .. Green is married and now makes his home in Lynnfield with his wife, Pat, and three children, Karen, John Christopher and Edward. |
