Wayne Cashman played his first full season as a left winger the past Winter and he hit the 20 goal circle 21 goals to be specific .. . If the rugged blond from Verona, Ont., continues to improve in his new position as he has done in a year and a half, he could be all-star material in the future . A right shot, Cash played right wing as a junior and in his first pro years. It was only the middle of the 1969-70 season that he was switched to his off-wing when nobody else seemed to fit in retired Ron Murphy's spot on the line with Phil Esposito and Ken Hodge He had to learn to take passes differently on the off-wing and to station himself differently for shots on net . . He's still learning but he's improved so much that his line broke the record for goals and points by a line in a season and Esposito credits his digging and passes in helping Phil set his individual records . . . Wayne lives with his wife and two children Scott and Lyn on the shores of Howes Lake, Verona, Ont.
